In reality, their economic system was corporatist, neither capitalist nor communist, copied from Fascist Italy.

The problem with corporatism is that corporations end up being allies of the state, and it is the working class that remains at the bottom of the social ladder, without the ability to decide on anything.

Although it can be argued that the National Socialists implemented "socialist" measures, such as improving working conditions, providing paid vacations, and offering housing to families with many children, they were definitely collectivists, in their own way.

They didn't expropriate the means of production, which completely distances them from Marxism, although they were supposed to be controlled, it was a state-directed economy. I believe it was the Feder brothers who favored implementing these more "socialist" measures in the old style.

Because the state will never be able to work as efficiently as private owners. National Socialists realized that it was enough to simply collect 60% of the profits of private companies in taxes, to then distribute them to the working class through maternity benefits, vacation packages for workers, etc.
The Nazis also often protected workers. I read an article in the Atlantic magazine from the 1930s about the situation of workers in Nazi Germany. In the article, a worker responded that he was no longer earning more money, but at least he was being treated with respect for his human dignity.
