Well, Season 1 had admitted it as well but the “Average Joe” there was a bit swarmy imo. This guy seemed like that typical “nice guy” but it wasn’t enough, Surfer Chad wins. The ending was pretty funny even if it was BS just for the reason given for the Chad and Stacy breaking up.
