Na, bots are there to control the narrative. That’s why they want age verification because they can’t tell the bots from the users anymore (a mess the ad and data mining companies created). Their data is dirty and unreliable now thanks to that. So let’s say you advertise your new vape flavor of your product, you hire a marketing company to make an advertising campaign with influencers. But out of the millions of followers how many are real and engaging in product? How many are in countries where they can buy the vape? How many of age to buy the vape? How many are real people clicking on links to a product page and not just bots. Probably you can end up with 10,000 clicks and think this new flavor is going to take off until it hits the store shelves and no one buys it because they think it smells like bathroom cleaner.

Exactly. I’ll also add that it’s been the same way since like 2013 or so. If we were to go back ten years ago (to 2016), you’d also find everyone on their phone everywhere (gyms, bus stops, parks, etc). Ever since phones became “smart,” and social media hit, everyone became instantly addicted. Ten years ago iPhone 7 was released and social media was as dominant as now, so it has been the same for a while, sadly.
