It was another written account of the Noahide flood before the Bible was written that actually inspired the Bible. Also, it claimed a messianic figure would be crucified. It's not like the Scribes who wrote the Old Testament didn't read other books. There must've been similar stories that people were hearing of a deluge that happened soon after the Ice Age where the water levels were still stabilizing, such as the Black Sea deluge or the deluges in Mesopotamia, which was thenthe center of human civilization. Europe at that time was the Wild West. Almost nobody didn't have an arrow shot in them before or were struck with a blunt object. Many skulls from this era had holes in them. Europeans were 50x worse than inner city blacks today.
