The war is getting more costly in money terms as time goes on. There still isn't that many Western weapons systems in Ukraine. But as they get there to keep them fed with ammo and repairs and maintenance, keep training more Ukrainians on them. And sending in more as the Ukrainians capacity to use them is growing through time.
The Ukrainians don't have to try risky offensives. They can just slowly move forward along a wide front targeting relatively weaker areas in the defensive lines. And eventually fighting across multiple wide fronts. You sort of slowly build the offensives in battalions involved. And dig in fortifications and man the areas you take against counter offensives.
The anti-tank missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and anti-ship missiles have made it like WWI. And artillery is super effective with the drones spotting.
