Here we are, gentlemen, where the so-called values or virtues of the western philosophical enlightenment era of a supposedly enlightened grand experiment will be met with utter total failure along with in the end total systematic collapse.

Will the United States be hit by a barrage of nuclear missiles? It is hard to say, but if it did happen, it would all be quickly over without any semblance of life afterward where the few to survive such aftermath would soon find themselves wishing to be dead upon the initial impact as chances of survival due to residual effects drastically are reduced from there on out.

But let us assume for a moment, there is no nuclear exchange where instead there is merely the collapse of government, law, and order, and along with all semblance of an economic monetary organization in place having been thoroughly collapsed in an imploded manner. I pride myself as a dark unconventional thinker so let me proceed then to give you a glimpse of hell as we make our descent into it as I have had much empty time to entertain or contemplate that very notion all these years.

First order of business, the continuance of government in the aftermath of such chaos. Every world government has such contingencies in place to prevail the complete breakdown of their own nations. Some are more organized than others of course, but the same prevailing theme is practically universal.

The goal is simple, try to implement and prevail some semblance of law and order in the advent of national collapse, with military martial law far more severe draconian measures becomes the norm. Looters are shot and executed, there is no court system anymore of course so even being accused of looting or some other kind of criminal act even if one is completely innocent becomes deadly. The die-hard political supporters of the old order wanting to reestablish it will always fill the cadres of continual governance, but of course, this only works well if the previous government was loved by the majority of the populace for if it wasn't then the continuance of governance becomes deadly for all of its political supporters as they all become willing targets of an angry vindictive population majority who are then gunning after them. Without any semblance of a monetary economic system in place the continuance of government will require an incentive to otherwise control the greater population, so as is the typical historical tradition of collapsed civilizations everywhere the tools of hunger along with food becomes the new monetary incentive in the absence of national currency, this serves a few purposes. One it establishes control over the population that if you want to eat you will adhere to the newly imposed government order, and two, opposition to the new government order is starved out left to die for the continuance of government requires absolute obedience to be effective under military rule where opposing political dissension is simply not tolerated. This of course only works by the charitable goodwill nature of your nation's agricultural food producers, the farmers, and such. If however the majority of the farmers are opposed to the newly imposed government order their farms are militarily invaded, property confiscated, and being reduced to utter enemies of the newly imposed government state being branded as outlaw criminals to which mass slaughter becomes the preferred method of smoking out all resistance to the newly constructed network of food distribution. And so, for the continuance of government to prevail it requires the love of a majority of people, the total control of food distribution networks, and having enough boots on the ground everywhere to control the surviving population for if it has none of these three things, it's ability to last in existence or implement much of anything becomes drastically reduced in of itself as it will basically being met with domestic opposition or even armed insurrection. It also requires the incentivization of its own enforcers as well, for if soldiers have nothing they won't fight under your service for very long, the loyalty of soldiers and even a government official is to their personal families first for if they cannot be protected they simply won't fight under your service.

Secondly, the large urban metropolitan cities will be the first to collapse in utter chaos or ruin. That violent gang who controlled five city blocks that even in times of law and order local police would dare not go towards now controls ten blocks increasing their domain of influence. Other competing gangs or factions on the other side of the city will be doing the same until it is an all-out warzone to which there is only one prevailing victor who then declares themselves the new warlord mayor of the entire city. Police will be run out of the cities overwhelmed and unless a military force of a continuance of government is established in the city to put them down lawlessness will reign utterly supreme under such local strongmen. If transportation of food or basic commodities isn't reestablished quickly inside the cities you will be facing major shortages of virtually everything and then there will be food riots, massive theft of food, until the competition of eating just to survive to the next week will be met with people killing each other in streets just to have a full stomach. Females will literally be prostituting themselves for food if they have no access to any maybe even selling their own children and meanwhile, husbands of starving families will literally go on violent sprees just to acquire food to feed their own children daily. If you're the aspiring would-be warlord of your city the first thing you would try to accomplish is having a monopoly on local food networks or stockpiles to gain influence with the local domestic population. Eventually, the large metropolitan urban city centers will run out of their stockpiles of food along with basic staples or commodities without transportation and even basic infrastructure in place to move freight to which urban warlords will be forced to branch outwards into rural centers where food is produced which will end in a cannibalistic free for all of violence competing over resources between urban and rural populations.

While the rural population has the upper hand in agricultural food production and generally wilderness terrain for defensive purposes it has a few weaknesses as well. For one, in the advent of societal collapse singing "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr. with an AR-15 in hand most of the military bases throughout North America are in fact in rural areas concerning the continuance of government. So under possible nuclear attack, rural areas will be hit simultaneously much like the larger urban metropolitan city centers. And under martial law concerning the continuance of government are directly in the proximity of the majority of military installations, meaning, will probably see the first wave of martial law being implemented. Remember, in the collapse of a nation's infrastructure, trading, and financial economy food production or stockpiles to control populations becomes everything. And while a rural insurrection or resistance against a tyrannical government might seem romantic, those AR15s are nothing compared to government military weapons with things like fighter jets, tanks, artillery, mortar fire, missiles, remote detonations, bombers, drones, and such. You might have a hundred guns with thousands of rounds stacked away in your rural countryside home or manor, but tell me, how well does it defend against modern artillery, missiles, or aerial bombardment? Even the most staunch tough rural militia force full of ex-veterans would have a hard time against that. Don't confuse fantasy with reality which is often enough the case so many do.

So the biggest problem for our rural population of national collapse is the continuance of government if it prevails for if it does idealistic romanticism will be pitted against the military might of the former United States government. If however, the continuance of government fails rural populations which are much smaller face another huge problem, namely that when the urban populations spread out they very well may be much larger in overpowering if our city warlords decide to expand branching out. In most historical military portions of combat, usually a majority of the time larger numbers win out in conflicts by overpowering their smaller competitors. Although our rural population might luck out if the urban populations starve out in much larger numbers before aggressive expansion in rural areas which might more or less equal the odds. The strengths of rural populations cannot be stressed enough, many know how to hunt and grow their own food shooting off firearms from their preteens growing up, their close family bonds, and generally tight knitted communities, however, the weakness once again is their much smaller populations along with their general distrust of outsiders meaning they have no organization beyond local communities where they limit themselves to what people they socially interact with. And while many rural populations have many ex-military veterans the urban centers have quite a few of those as well. Throughout the collapse of entire civilizations or nations, it is always the urban pitted against the rural or vice versa which plays out repeatedly throughout time.

The masses sabotage one another in their desperate desire to climb the ladder towards heaven, yet that very desire is more likely to be achieved should the masses work on it as a united group as opposed to gladiators fighting each other in the Colosseum for their rulers' entertainment. I said this before and I'll say it again: the powers that be cannot expect women to genocide 1/3 or more (as inceldom rises) of the male population and get away with it. Men are the builders of civilization, the ones responsible for the vast majority of scientific, technological, and artistic inventions, the ones behind the system itself; once civilization breaks down under the weight of useless people who contribute to our misery, the take over must begin on the condition that we never forget what they did to us.

The West is the place where individualism prevails. I'm not sure what this means in regards to our future as a society. It will probably result in different tribes of people fighting each other for the remaining resources available once civilization breaks down. A united nation under one ideology is not possible at the moment, I agree. Though on a more positive note we should strive for some form of collectivism/identitarianism (but not to the point where it evolves into communism/Marxism) should we take our countries back centuries from now.

I think what we're looking at under such a scenario is more of Neegan style of simultaneous groups popping up everywhere in a collapsed nation to which the hoarding or conquering of resources for the next week of survival will probably be more common. Usually, in this instance, it will be spontaneous multiple factions emerging fighting each other for the power of control with the rare instances of alliances or peace in between until one dominant faction ultimately prevails. We're talking about decades of infighting and bloodshedding until that occurs of course as this is not something in history that occurs simply overnight.

The problem for the United States and the west in general under our hypothetical scenario of total collapse is super individualism where people largely only concern themselves with their own selves or their own families as distrust, division, hatred, prejudice, and the likes of everybody amongst themselves is paramount to everyday existence here which casts a large shadow over a collective united front or politically public common cause, that is not to say that eventually later on one won't emerge[It will], but at least in the initial stages of collapse I simply don't see it happening in the very beginning anyway. The United States for instance is a highly divided nation where nobody agrees on much of anything which makes me believe in the very beginning you'll have multiple factions of every kind of different sort vying for power in the absent vacuum of a much larger political power structure.
