This might already exist or something but I thought of it by myself and thought it was pretty cool, dont take this super seriously btw.
So people get prosthetics to replace limbs right? Well what if we didn't replace limbs we lost rather added more limbs to our bodies?
I think a practical way this can be pulled off is adding a finger to our hands, or 2 extra arms similar to "Four Arms" from Ben 10.
When they arrive in the mail you would calibrate them via a mobile app, telling them your height, weight, strength level, and age.
They would use an ai algorithm and training data set to detect when they are needed, so they would know the difference between picking up a fork versus lifting a heavy box.
If you are picking up a fork they aren't needed and they would understand that, if you were lifting a heavy object like a couch or box, they would use the sensors or cameras to detect this and move to help you.
I would be against the idea of using real brainwaves to fully control them because I dont trust that honestly and our bodies would struggle with it considering we only regularly have 2 arms.
They could also detect danger, so if a rock was thrown at you they could see it and block/catch it, or if you are on a construction site and a brick or anything fell and was gonna injure you they would detect it moving at a quick speed and what object it was and catch it saving your life.
It's thought process would be as follows roughly: "Object? It's a brick, bricks are dangerous, is it moving towards us or are we moving towards it? Whats the speed its going? Do I catch it/deflect it?"
They would have to be made out of a decently tough material because of the use cases it has.
This is all a rough idea and it's not as simple as I make it out to seem OBVIOUSLY, but its a pretty cool idea I think, maybe its just novelty but idc tbh.
