AFGHANISTAN — New video posted online shows the moment the Taliban used a US helicopter to publicly hang a civilian above Kandahar.
The footage shared on Twitter shows a man hanging from a helicopter as it flies over Kandahar ahead of the US’s exit from Afghanistan.
Reports say the Taliban, by some estimates, now has access to $85 billion worth of American military equipment abandoned by the United States — including up to 600,000 firearms, 75,000 vehicles, and hundreds of aircraft the US donated to the Afghan army.
“Those Black Hawks were not given to the Taliban. They were given to the Afghan National Security Forces to be able to defend themselves at the specific request of President [Ashraf] Ghani, who came to the Oval Office and asked for additional air capability, among other things,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said at a press conference.
As the Biden administration assesses the amount of equipment left in Afghanistan, the Taliban has been trolling the US by posing in American uniforms and high-tech gear while driving around in armored Humvees.
“If any of these weapons or this military equipment is used to harm, injure, or kill an American now or at any time in the future, the blood is on Joe Biden’s hands,” Former US Navy reservist Jim Banks said in a speech in Washington.
