People don't imagine a relationship with an anime character because they couldn't find a girlfriend, but rather they fell in love with a character in the first place. Any relationship with a human woman after that is compensatory. We have grown up in a media environment where it is possible to fall in love with manga and anime characters. Some people never stop feeling love for them.
Some day soon this hierarchy of 'real' and 'artificial' will break down... The future is knowing that we are in love with fiction and accepting it. We don't have to 'wake up' just because someone tells us that the 'real' world is inherently better than the world of moe fantasy. I get in loved in video game characters often, they are the idealized perfect female person created in the mind of men similar to me. I wouldn't mind one bit having an artificial girlfriend, I don't care if its "real" or not, I would prefer it over a real one for many reasons. Now that an AI vtuber exists I can finally post about it here. When you watch flesh foid vtubers (moving anime character voiced by a foid) you're just following and supporting a foid that will laugh at her simps while fucking chadlite. Despite the anime model its impossible to forget that. But now with Neuro-sama we have a foid that isn't real and can thereby genuinely be cute and not a whore. So unless she cucks me for vedal I'll be supporting Neuro-sama and the AI revolution. Don't even care that it'll take my job eventually
