When it comes to martial arts training, quality>>>quantity

Yoga, qigong, and physical therapy are legit, but in terms of roi, it's not even close how much Tai chi mogs

One thing to be mindful of with training Tai Chi: going to a large class, where you work on long forms and barely on technique of individual moves, is not going to be very useful. You'll eventually pick up the moves from it, but getting a basic idea of the moveset first is a good idea

Posting this in inceldom discussion because there's really no better adjunct to being cast as a monk than becoming a lethal martial artist

Do they do real sparring? Without pressure testing shit is useless for actual fighting, if I understand things correctly.

Aight, I've just done basic shit and plan to get started again very soon. Good cardio and fun to have something to occupy the mind since you can think about moves and stuff.

Traditional monastic practices like Qigong and yoga are very beneficial for fighting too, yoga especially when it comes to ground grappling. Anyway one of the most enjoyable aspects of training these arts in addition to martial arts is connecting the arts to martial arts because technically Asian energy arts can be practiced for one's entire life including in disability whereas with fighting you are somewhat dependent on youth, genetics and ablebodiedness. with the Asian Energy Arts you can have an entire practice in your mind and while you could technically say the same thing about fighting with regard to the mind's eye, the actual physical practice is a lot more likely to carry over into old age. having said, the earlier and the more seriously you practice things like Tai chi, yoga and Qigong, the more likely you will be able to maintain a degree of literal fighting success into old age
