I don't even know why I'm writing this in this forum, considering the kind of people who usually post here, but I'll share my knowledge anyway.

Over the last three years, I suffered a major psychological slump and tried to find a way to feel good about myself again. Well, here's what I found: neither psychologists nor self-help books work, only strong, intense exercise.

It's no groundbreaking discovery that exercise helps boost self-esteem, but this time I confirmed it through my own experience.

The fire I used to have in my chest, which had died down, is resurfacing, and I'm starting to feel better about myself and life. The idea is to do exercises that affect the solar plexus (third chakra). That's where the warmth of personality is located, and it's the chakra associated with self-esteem.

Since I started martial arts and consistent abdominal and push-up exercises, that warmth in the center of my solar plexus has slowly begun to return.

Anyway, for anyone who's struggling... For those with self-love and self-esteem issues, regardless of what society and women think, this is the most effective solution: strong and intense exercise and developing some martial arts skills. With time you'll feel better about yourself. At least that's what works for me.

This works for me till I hit a plateau. Then I feel like shit again.

Most of us here just don't even have the energy to try
Think about what you gain: feeling better about yourself, not suicidal and depressed 24/7.

It's not because it's a social mandate or to have a better body in the vain hope of attracting women.

Martial arts is cool, but useless nowadays, since everybody is strapped up

But in this thread, I'm making a point: focus on specific exercises that activate the solar plexus.

A great exercise would be the typical bench press for chest, or even push-ups.

The idea is to increase heat in the chest; when a person feels good about themselves, they feel energy in that specific area of the body.

Yep, intense cardio is good as well
 
The only way I see myself feeling better about myself is having a new face and voice and the positive reinforcement that comes along with it
 
I’ve tried it before, it helped a bit but then I relapsed. I was doing boxing.
 
I run 3 to 4 miles about 5 times a week. Still ugly and hate myself.
