(F23) Today, during an argument with my boyfriend (we’ve been together for 4 years), he said he feels very affected by my illness (even though he knows nothing about my treatment and almost never comes with me to appointments, he literally just works all day).

I asked him why he feels “affected” if he never actually helps me with anything. Then he said that I’m always depressed because of it and added: “Also, about kids… I don’t want to have kids with diabetes. I don’t know if we can do some kind of test to prevent that.”

Like… what? Would he ask me to have an abortion if I were pregnant with a child who might have diabetes?

On one hand, I kind of understand, but I felt really sad. I never thought I’d hear something like that. What do you guys think?
