My husband drinks between 3-6 beers (tall, 50cl ones) several days a week. He doesn't really get visibly drunk, he has super high tolerance. He doesn't act bad or much different at all so that's not why it bothers me. He has type 1 diabetes and all that sugar just can't be good. I am worried about the effects this will have in the future. He says that as long as he manages his insulin there is no harm done. He is however overweight (to me he's perfect, just worried about health) and at his last checkup they said his sugars were a bit high as well as slightly high cholesteral. He also said they don't think it's good how much he drinks.
He's a very all or nothing guy, I'm the same so I get it. I've tried suggesting that he cut down or just limit the drinking to the weekends but then he quits completely for a couple of weeks then is back at it. He has the attitude of "diabetes can't control my life" and kind of "what happens happens". But we're still young (both 25) and I worry about the future.
What do you guys think? Is he right, am I worrying about nothing? Please be honest.
@Retardfuel Do you have anything in particular to say to these people?
