Imagine wasting around 6 hours of your day (the train from Cardiff Central to Paddington is 2 hours, but you also have to add the time it takes to get from home to the station or to university) in commuting to a lecture hall where the teacher just reads powerpoint slides She says she does it because she couldn't find accomodation but probably it's cheaper to rent an airbnb or a hotel room for a month than buying the monthly Cardiff-London railway card. Or she should have gone to Cardiff University which is also very good so she would have a short commute and wouldn't have to worry about accomodation.

When I went to uni for my bachelor's degree I had 1 hour of commute by bus and it was okayish (I just listened to music and slept) but anything more than that would be unbearable, imagine 3 hours and then at the end of the day 3 hours again. Then for my master's I moved to another city, found accomodation super near my uni and had a 5 minute commute by bike which was lifefuel.
