I can tell about slum dwelling street-shitting curries. Your depression will be of different kind because everyone around you are in the same situation as you. The rich people are minority in any 3rd world shit-hole. One of the most popular pastime of poor people is to vent about their life, fate and god.

Yes, they obviously suffer from depression due to economic hardship and poverty, but their version of depression is not like the one of a lonely virgin in the west. It's totally different.
