In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Angel One, the Enterprise makes contact with a matriarchal society on planet that was previously contacted by the Federation. In it, men are oppressed, and the leadership is an oligarchal council that is petty, paranoid, dismissive, and cruel. It's a perfect representation of a society run by women.
