Winter Tundra is so cozy, man. I miss those days so very much.I liked sypro ripto rage
Read my earlier reply. As for controls, it is spot on. No issues there.i downloaded the reignited version, does it hinder the experience or keep the original charm intact?
appreciate the in-depth insight, im currently at 76% completion on the first entry of the reignited version; it's a lovely platformer so far; i encountered zero technical issues running the game on framerates exceeding 30, the optimization apropos of the fitgirl repack is seemingly phenomenalRead my earlier reply. The only problem is that the physics are bound to the framerate so it seems.
Some things don't properly function when you run it at 60 fps or with an unlocked framerate.
On PC you should run it at 30 fps only.
On consoles, ALL consoles, it runs at 30 fps.
The Series S runs the Xbox One version.
The Series X runs the Xbox One X version.
I'd suggest locking the framerate to the highest you can where it won't drop lower and pkay it that way since when it runs with a consistent framerate which means consistent frametimes, it will be more comfortable for the eyes and not exhausting over time.appreciate the in-depth insight, im currently at 76% completion on the first entry of the reignited version; it's a lovely platformer so far; i encountered zero technical issues running the game on framerates exceeding 30, the optimization apropos of the fitgirl repack is seemingly phenomenal
You have good tastethe OG from 98 is legendary
agreed, dont like the graphics on the spyro or crash remakesLike all of those demakes and demasters, the reignited trilogy is a soulless cash grab that shits all over the originals. The modern graphics look disgusting, especially the lighting. The world looks like cheap plastic. The characters have something uncanny about them, with their dead eyes staring into your soul. And of course, they sanitized the dialogue to not offend the snowflakes.
The originals were great tho. Year of the Dragon was one of my first PS1 games. I still remember the surreal, dreamy atmosphere it had.
i fully completed the first entry; the trilogy is a neat, well-designed collectathon so farPlatinumed the entire reignited trilogy years ago and they hold up really well
i played the original crash entries and the remade installments, while the remakes undeniably suck some of the charm away, they're still phenomenal, especially with the addition of previously cut contentagreed, dont like the graphics on the spyro or crash remakes
it loses the ps1 magic
give crash of the titans (2007 reboot) a shot, it's entirely linear but the core gimmick of the game could possibly get you hooked; my utter admiration towards it may be a byproduct of nostalgia tho, so don't expect something revolutionaryI never finished the remake for some reason. I don't think the game is for me unfortunately. Neither is crash tbh too linear for me.
Great taste sircelthe OG from 98 is legendary
Just play the first as the second game was rushed and the third was made another studio that never bothered patching the bugs.i downloaded the reignited version, does it hinder the experience or keep the original charm intact?
i went full completion on the whole trilogy, immaculate collectathons; my only criticism regarding the reignited version involves the subtle changes in certain levels and dialogue lines. other than that it's phenomenal, though the OG version still prevails in terms of charm & cozinessJust play the first as the second game was rushed and the third was made another studio that never bothered patching the bugs.
Thats awesome!!!I remember renting Spyro from the video store in 2000. A few years ago I was looking at my PS1 memory card and the saved file was still there.

The original Spyro games were my childhood. I would highly recommend checking them out.
The games are a fun break from the "Rip your own hair out from frustration" type of platformers, and have this almost dreamlike atmosphere. You glide around and explore different open-ended words for gems, while burning and charging bosses along the way. The later two game introduce various minigames as well.
In that case, you will enjoy the other two as well. They are basically the first one, except more. More abilities to learn in the second one, a few more characters to play as in the third one, etc.

this description captures the dreamy & cozy atmosphere of the game through words flawlessly; i would crown the ripto's rage entry as the pinnacle of the trilogy; i truly had a phenomenal experience and i doubt the rest of the franchise will grasp the impeccability of the insomniac run.The original Spyro games were my childhood. true, i played enter the dragonfly and it was an ambitious yet disappointing title to say the least; have fun playing peak once againA couple of the GameCube entries are okay, but nothing beats the OG trilogy.
Whenever I hear the music I'm instantly transported back to simpler times as a kiddo when I didn't know how brutal the world was.
I will emulate the PS1 versions and play them again.

im currently navigating the GBA entries en route to a hero's tail, finished 2 so far; im oddly excited to reach the reboot, hopefully it isn't as abhorrent as you portrayedTry Hero's Tail, it's way better than EOD. I'd give HT a 7.5-8/10 compared to the straight 10/10s of the PS1 games, which is still pretty good.
Don't bother with the Legend of Spyro reboot games, they're complete trash. Just turned it into a stupid action game with no platforming![]()
My brother really liked the GBA entries and he's a good man, but I never played them myself. How did you find the GBA titles brocel?im currently navigating the GBA entries en route to a hero's tail, finished 2 so far; im oddly excited to reach the reboot, hopefully it isn't as abhorrent as you portrayed![]()
Great choice to rmulate and enjoy the OGs, man.A couple of the GameCube entries are okay, but nothing beats the OG trilogy.

They should properly remake ETD.true, i played enter the dragonfly and it was an ambitious yet disappointing title to say the least; have fun playing peak once again
I'm downloading the .iso files right now but my internet connection is so slowGreat choice to rmulate and enjoy the OGs, man.
This is what I hate about the reboots. I like the collectathon aspect of those games, paired with the dream like music and worlds. My brother really liked the GBA entries and he's a good man, but I never played them myself. How did you find the GBA titles brocel?
The reboots are nothing like the OG games. They have more in common to something like an action-adventure game than the OG games platformer-collector games.
Some people may like that but I grew up with the original PS1 games and, for me, none of the charm and dreamy atmosphere is there in the reboots. And the music isn't as good as the OG trilogy.
Sometimes it's the servers themselves though. I have had the same issue even at home eith my stupid fadt internet.I'm downloading the .iso files right now but my internet connection is so slow![]()
I have to use a 4g router because there is only a single ancient copper box for my entire neighbourhood serving traditional wired copper broadband, so it's expensive as shit but also very slow because it's serving a dozens of households from that single ancient box.Sometimes it's the servers themselves though. I have had the same issue even at home eith my stupid fadt internet.
The music is the best thingThis is what I hate about the reboots. I like the collectathon aspect of those games, paired with the dream like music and worlds.
Very relaxing after a hard day.
I have the ROMs for Crash 1 and 3 still, I think they've held up alright, although it reminds me how much my controller on the pc sucksgive crash of the titans (2007 reboot) a shot, it's entirely linear but the core gimmick of the game could possibly get you hooked; my utter admiration towards it may be a byproduct of nostalgia tho, so don't expect something revolutionary
I know, I know. I have kost of the music on my phone and listen to it at work sometimes. The music is the best thing
It brings me right back to being a five year old playing Spyro in my bedroom as a kid. I'll never forget that music until the day I die.
The music was written by the drummer of the band The Police. The newer games don't have that kind of talented musician.
I've not played this but I saw a Spyro speedrunner playing it.The PS1 trilogy was my childhood. Funny thing is, in reignited, they fucked up the skateboard/hoverboard physics for the Spyro 3 segment.
Has anyone ever played Spyro 3.5: Return to the Forgotten Realms? I was saving it for a special occasion, perhaps xmas/new years
Spyro music and Oblivion music makes things easier to cope with for me too.I know, I know. I have kost of the music on my phone and listen to it at work sometimes.
When I have to do some really annoying stuff, I turn on some of that music and it instantly makes things more bearable.
Never played Oblivion, tbh. Should I? What platform?Spyro music and Oblivion music makes things easier to cope with for me too.![]()
I originally played it on the Xbox 360 and PC back in 2008 or so, but it recently got remastered with better graphics if you care about that. You can pirate it on PC if you're a PCcel, or get an old copy of the original version if you have the older consoles or a newer console which allows backporting older games.Never played Oblivion, tbh. It may work on my xbox one. I hate RPGs though. Life is an RPG and I have messed up my build a lot.I originally played it on the Xbox 360 and PC back in 2008 or so, but it recently got remastered with better graphics if you care about that. It's a Bethesda Game from the Elder Scrolls series so if you like open-world RPGs I would recommend it. It's very cozy and the music is very peaceful. It's extremely charming overall.
This piece and this are my favourite tracks from it. The composer had a near death experience and wrote the OST to this game as a kind of "ode to life", or celebration of the fact that he was still alive. I don't quite understand that myself, but it's a beautiful OST all the same.
@NEB.feelsdevil I've seen that you like TES games and have said they are a good cope. Maybe you have something to add.
