The first anime I can say I watched was Robotech, then playing the game Robotech battle cry, which till this day is still the coolest looking game hands down. The one anime I can recall really shifting my view of life was called FATE I can't remember what happened exactly, that or it was some other. But the story goes of a family who had a prodigy daughter and a normal son, the mom and dad didn't care much for the son and favored the daughter more, the sister discovering that her bother was mistreated took to spending time with him more, however on a basketball trip the bus fell into from a high way on a mountain side and they fell straight into the woods. What shocked me to my core was how far they went insane, eating each other, then the teacher having sex with one of the students, to killing one another. It was a tragic moment in my life, because in my naive I experienced so little, having witnessed that I admit I was disturbed.
One show I can remember with ease was SGT. frog on Netflix on the Wii, I couldn't stop watching it even though I knew they never got any more seasons, yet it was so magical and opened my mind to odder things. If anything I can still feel the mindset, the music and the joy it was to see it for the first time, dancing with the music and using old Youtube to find more seasons and when I did I would watch and rewatch it again, my childish mind however did not comprehend the power of the common search bar.
I was introduced to Code Geass via a manga, after I found this site that had free anime on it, I would literally watch the first and second season over and over again at night and yet I never fully comprehended the plot nor the entire story, the mechs and politics- the cycinical attitudes were by the most enjoyable, my little laugh came from when Lechouch says to Sezaku "we can talk later about who's the bigger hypocrite".
That and Elfien lied, Guran Lagann, Rosaria + Vampire, Robotech, dragon ball z kai etc. etc.
