I remember for some reason as a young child liking the Paraguay team to be unique, because they were a lesser-known LATAM country for soccer.

I also have a theory that even though the matches are supposed to be random, they set this one up on purpose because Paraguay is probably the most US/Western-friendly country in South America (they even support Israel for some reason). This was done to set things off on the right foot in terms of political volatility. And no less at a time where LATAM opinion of the US is likely not great due to the Venezuelan intervention.
