JFL So THIS is the famed "men care about looks, women care about money and status" difference redpillers are always bringing up?

So this is it? This is the famed opposition to the blackpill? (I don't consider the bluepill an opposing theory to the blackpill because there's absolutely no science backing it up that.) "No, women are evolutionarily drawn towards wanting a provider, they care about money and status, your looks are irrelevant:soy:!":feelshaha: This tiny blip that's hard to even see? That's the :redpill::redpill: gotcha against what we are saying:feelshaha:? It's either the blackpill (looks above all for everyone) or this (absolutely tiny differences in mate preferences between genders that would only matter and show up at large scale and realistically mean nothing for a single person), and I'm supposed to think that that means that my worldview is in danger of being proven wrong:feelsjuice:?

The core theme of the literature on stated vs. revealed mate preferences is that women care more about men's looks than they say and men care more about women's money than they say.

Did someone treat it as an opposition to black pill?

men care more about women's money than they say.
Eh! Idk about that. It's definitely nowhere near as much as foids care about looks. He is bringing up very rich men who marry "highly educated" foids as examples. Seems like a narrative being pushed.

Ow:feelsbadman:.

The red pill is really just the blue pill.

Buss has his whole career based on that women prefer power over looks.

:feelsseriously: we don't "extrapolate our perception on women" (also a lot of men care about personality before looks), we simply observe reality - they don't date ugly men no matter how interesting of a person they are, and they worship tall chads. It's that simple and you can observe it easily. They're scared to admit foids are naturally shallow so they come up with all types of funny excuses.

It's not that those two things are anywhere near equally important, he's just saying that they are more important than they are said to be. Basically what stuff like this blind dating study already found a decade ago, where men rated women's incomes extremely low as a priority, but when looked at who they actually started relationships with, although women's incomes were still quite low as a factor, they were almost thrice as important for men than stated.

I know. It's that his choice of example ticked me off. Those "high status" or "rich guys" do it for social status for the most part.

I'd be curious to know about whether the men ditched 6/10s in favor of 4 or 5/10s with higher earning power.

Yeah, that's why it always irks me whenever feminists, historians, and people in general emphasize that medieval noblewomen or other high-class/status women were "limited" in their marriage choices, while completely avoiding the fact that that was mostly the case for their male counterparts as well. Marrying below one's status was basically unacceptable for high class people for most of history, and we just see that being the case today as well with richfags mostly marrying each other.

Dunno. A bottom quintile 6/10 vs a top quintile 5/10 would probably be a pretty tough choice for most guys, especially since the looks difference realistically isn't that big. And turn the quintiles into deciles and it's pretty clear I'd say.

The modern world is so materialistic that redpilltards can't understand that money is not the most important factor.

“Men understate how much they value money”

Maybe if she’s homeless and unhealthy.

Maybe rich men care about foids money given how different broke low status foids behave and the relatability aspect. Maybe broke foids feel like they’re using then whereas richer foids aren’t.

That’s all I can say
