They start out super aggressive at first, keeping their captives scared, in pain, and fully secured. But over time, the kidnapper’s guilt builds up and their confidence also rises. This in turn raises the captive’s confidence in escaping.

The kidnapper then loosen the captive’s restrictions, thinking that their captive is growing to “like them” and has given up hope on escaping. And now the kidnapper’s throat has been slit in their sleep or the captive is suddenly “missing”. I swear this is the downfall of every kidnapper :feelskek: .
