Silksong, in addition to being yet another 2D Metroidvania game, does not revolutionize the first Hollow Knight game in any way, as it is a reskin with minor differences such as collectibles and currency. It features the same basic movements of jumping, dashing, and recharging energy, with a boring level design that does not motivate you to explore. Each location has exits placed randomly and haphazardly.

Its success can only be explained by its fanbase, who are fond of and impressed by the cutesy art of little insects and degenerates who enjoy bestiality like Undertale. You have no idea how much I hate all the hype surrounding indie games. People are willing to blindly jump on the bandwagon just to be part of a counterculture movement. Yes, most modern AAA games are trash, but that doesn't mean indie games are flawless.

Maybe it's because, like me, you score high on neuroticism, which is associated with moodiness , anxiety and therefore prefer games with quick sessions that offer a relaxing escape from stress.

Modern games are also too long and end up recycling the same mechanics, which becomes boring. This is also one of the reasons why movies are superior to shows, as their shorter format allows for better pacing.
