Most indie games aren't even real videogames, they're just cheap amateur garbage made by talentless troons. Nobody actually chooses to make pixel art because they want to, they do it because they don't know how to model worth shit in Blender and have to cope by calling it "retro aesthetic" and "artistic vision" Jfl.

These faggots can't into real game development so they slap some low effort pixels together, add tumblr dialogue and call it a masterpiece.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would waste their time on these shitty indie gaymes when there are literally thousands of actually good classic games from the past 40 years

The difference is not in talent but in number of people and budget. AAA games are made by big studios, while indie games are made by one or a few people.

You could say the same about all games then. There are a lot of shit indie games, and there are a lot of shit AAA games.

I meant that it's weird that put together pixel art and 3D games, because pixel art is 2D. The developers who do pixel art games don't do so because they can't model in 3D, or else they would do 3D games with bad models. There are plenty of bad 3D indie games, by the way. Your argument would've made more sense if you said that they fall back to pixel art because it's easier to make than normal high resolution 2D animations, but it's not exactly true either.
 
I find indie games entertaining because their stories are significantly different from what you see on a AAA game. They are also pretty cheap if not free. The pixel art/drawed graphics convey a DIY aesthetic some people find appealing.

But I agree on your point, I don't consider them real games, but rather small lectures or experiences. The core asset of gaming is gameplay and indie games have very little if not absolute zero gameplay. That's why I don't consider myself a gamer, despite having played dozens of these indie titles, I haven't played titles some gamers would believe are mandatory to be consider a gamer. I'm just the kind of player that wants to sit on his desk and do nothing but read cute character dialogs.

I guess it depends on the "indie game, and many AAA titles are now overpriced, monetized, garbage. As a case in point, look at how poorly optimized Borderlands 4 was for the PC, and it was so bad that people had to rely on third-party fixes to get it to run properly.

I have always had older computers and the thing about many indie games is not only are they generally cheaper, but they also do not have the ridiculous hardware requirements that many AAA games do. This has gotten even more relevant in recent years when the cost of computer hardware has gotten stupidly expensive with all of the techbros buying it up to feed their AI monsters.

Also, the gameplay of many indie titles seems to be more fun rather than just cutscene-heavy releases that are just an excuse to show off graphics and features hidden behind DLCs and monetized content. There are so many indie games that run the gamut of different genres so they are now the titles that are filling the void left by AAA developers who have gotten very lazy with their releases these past ten years.

Now, there are also a lot of shitty indie titles as well, but thankfully you can comb through them on places like Steam to avoid the bad ones.

I do not like how the gaming space has been taken over by troons, but they are infesting both the indie market as well as AAA titles. I will play games that were developed by troons as long as the game itself is not woke, as Caves of Qud is fun, as is Ultrakill itself, but I make a point to avoid the fanbases of some of these games like the plague as many fanbases are full of degenerates or strange people even if the game or media itself is quite interesting.
