My dad said I can use the car once they put me on the insurance but I don’t think that’s gonna happen nothing has happened since then and nothing is happening now just another broken promise.

Yes

If you do get something cheap. Don't fall in to the hype of driving around in something that cost as much as a house.

Get a bike dude

If you live in a mixed use city, no. A good car is too expensive and a mediocre car is going to give you expensive car problems. Living in a commuter city is cucked

Just drive without insurance. Don't draw any attention and worst case scenario run off from the police. I did it thousands of times and it's ironically safer than driving insured

My parents won’t let me do that

Even better then they will call the police and say it's stolen giving you green light to take a car chase if need be

What if someone else hits you and fucks up your car? Yes the other person insurance will pay, but usually police show up to document damage

internal combustion engine cars will only increase in price so i'd buy now

A car gives you freedom but can also turn into a money sink quickly.
And this "freedom" is only worth it if you actually use it, if you don't earn money yet it's more of a shackle. My opinion.
But in certain moments it's nice to have.
