I taught myself how to sew out of necessity over the years due to being poor and trying to save money by trying to repair clothes and having nobody else to fix them for me due to living by myself for many years.

I am not a master tailor by any means, as all I can do is fix minor holes, attach buttons, and repair seams.

Is this something many of us here can do because of a lot of incels being in similar situations, or is it rather unique?

well im not a house wife so i'd say its unique

Knowing how to sew is a life skill. I wouldn't say it's unique but can be very handy given the circumstances.

Sewing is a very useful skill to have, but a pain in the ass when it has to constantly be done
