I got a new job today but I’d figured I’d give my current job a two weeks notice before I start the new one(May 9th). The only issue is I’m still expecting another paycheck next week(May 1st). I doubt they’ll put me in for more hours(only working once a week) but I’m still wondering if I’m gonna get the paycheck if they decide let me go prior to May 1st? This question is specifically for Americancels as I live in America. I’d actually like some serious responses for this, please.

Yes, they have to pay you for time worked.

One job that I was fired from, they had us put in the amount of hours we were planned to work for 2 weeks and they ended up paying me for those hours. I got $200 for nothing.

It’ll be direct deposited like usual, or they will mail it to you if you don’t pick it up physically. They’re obligated by law to so so

I don't know, I haven't worked a job for almost 6 years now so I can't even remember.

If you worked then they have to pay you.

ChatGPT:

Yes, if you already worked the hours for that upcoming paycheck (May 1st), you are legally entitled to be paid for that time—even if your employer lets you go before then. Employers must pay employees for all hours worked, regardless of whether they remain employed afterward. Just make sure you clocked in or have a clear record of your hours.
