Remember there was a time when there was no account disabling option. Now we got one. We didn't need one . But why now.
Maybe certain individuals are under duress. Maybe they cant tell you upfront. They might not want to put us in any harm and so the disable option is just a way of letting members know it might be wiser to use it.

It's not so much of a question of it it is the time to use it but when it is the time to use it.
There is such a thing as too late like if this site goes down and all data remaining is backed up. So "successful" account disabling can only occur before then. And no one knows when exactly this site may no longer be online.

@LittleBoy had linked an article where incels were blamed for the capitol riot. Were something bigger to occur and it is blamed on incels what happens next is anyone's here's guess.
