ChatGPT mostly had a psychological effect on us, with the added FOMO and people exploiting the hype. Once the hype is dead we will realize it's not very special. And the coming of AGI will also seem unrealistic again to people. Hinton and Bengio will make a tearful heartfelt apology to people for scaring them and having yet another wrong 'godfather'-prediction. Yudkowsky can go back to blog writing to compensate for not having had an education and will never be relevant anymore. LeCun can add to his perfect track record that he was right yet again. My uni peers and I will be glad that the laymen that suddenly became AI 'experts' will dissappear as quickly as they came, once they realized studying it was way too difficult for them.

STEM careers require an above-average IQ (I've failed college, my IQ is in the 100s). Unskilled jobs are being taken over by ethnics. There's nothing to live for.
