The commanders and officers will use drones to continuously monitor the soldiers' status as a "reconnaissance by fire".
1. Install an offline mapping app
2. Mark the destination with a pin
3. Take out phone SIM (to reduce EW and positional triangulation)
4. Tell him to dig a hole and wait indefinitely if he does make it out alive to the pin
5. Hand the phone to a soldier, tell him to mindlessly walk there (if he draws fire or steps on a landmine, you know where the dangers are and can deviate the path slightly in a different soldier's phone)
6. If he somehow made it alive, he will dig a hole
Bad ending:
7B. No troops are coming, or that he has been cut off, or that the commander is dead
8B. He will defend the hole until death
'Good' ending:
7G. He will await further troops to assemble in the hole
8G. Send a runner to the hole, so he can charge and update everyone's phones with a new pin (or signal further objectives with a drone)
9G. The process repeats
This tactic is documented among cannon fodder units like Wagners and Storm-V.
These groups are called "assault (storm) companies", a cool name that deviates from the disposable reality of those troops.
