In English, you can simply use ''Hello'' to greet all humans. You can say ''hello'' to your classmate, your parents, or the President.

In Romanian, greetings are divided by gender, age relative to you, and level of formality and respect. There are like 10 fucking types of ''hello'' you can say depending on who you are speaking with.

And not just the greeting itself, but the verb conjugation is also affected by this.

This may not seem that bad, but as a retard autist with no social skills, I sometimes have difficulty determining what type of greeting to use, especially because I can't figure a person's age. You typically only have a couple of seconds to decide after you encounter a human.

The main problem is that if you use a casual greeting, the interlocutor may assume you are disrespecting them. Foids may assume you are implying they look old if you use the senior type greeting.

Here are some examples from my life:

  • When I was registering for university, I used the formal senior greeting to the foid at the booth and she gave me such a stink eye. Later on I saw her again in the hallway, and I learned she was just a year older than me. I know she got offened because I implied she looked old by using that specific type of greeting (''buna ziua'' instead of ''buna'').

  • Another time I was at the dentist. It was a foid dentist and I was in her office. She was in her early 30s I believe. Then a male customer around the same age also came into the office wanting to schedule an appointment, and he used the casual ''buna'' greeting. After he left, the foid literaly told me she was bothered by his greeting, saying ''we don't know each other, he should have shown more respect''.

So Englishcel autistcels, be glad you don't have this shit to deal with :feelsUgh:

Are you an Englishcel? I have some threads where I show that Romanian has advantages over English. But unfortunately, the search function of the forum is not working and I cannot find them :feelsUgh:

Also, Americancels have a lot of trannies in their country (trannies own their country and this entire planet) :feelsokman:

There have already been controversies with the whole ''it's ma'am!'' and ''are you assuming my gender'' things.

Imagine how much more difficult it would be for Americancels if they also needed to use different versions of ''hello'' depending on the gender.

Thank you, brocel :feelsaww:

It is not required, but depending on your region, it is possible to start learning English in kindergarten

Damn that's pretty crazy :giga:

I guess it would be easier to learn earlier on though. I took Spanish in high school and I barely passed

I knew a kid who was in like French 5 in high school, and he was fluent, but he was originally from Canada.
