I've been reading up on some of Ancient Greek philosophy, and they even had terms to describe the different types of 'love' that one is supposed to feel. They called 'romantic love' with your partner, 'Eros.' However, they had a different kind of love, which was the love one has for his 'brothers,' or his friends that he grows deep bonds with—which was deemed 'Philia.'

Interestingly enough, 'Philia' was often considered more important than Eros in most instances. They actually held it in a higher regard than they did with Eros.
