Over for them.. but the West wants Armenia in the EU long run.. and the West is ok with Azerbaijan being somewhat neutral/leaning towards Turkey, Iran, Central Asian Muslim countries and China. Its actually useful to have Azerbaijan where it is west of the Caspian Sea as a gateway between West and East. But Armenia will then have to meet the West's demands if it wants the West's help.
One problem for Armenia.. I read a few weeks back Azerbaijan said over the next few years it was going to increase its natural gas exports to Europe from 12 bcm to 20 bcm. They were signing deals with the EU leaders.
Russia itself might need the West's help if it wants to hold onto Siberia.
This whole area of Central Asia is a big area where attention is going to shift if Russia goes down and joins the West. Like I read today the Taliban are training fighters for Kazakhstan and other ex-Soviet Union Muslim countries.
