this is not posted in anime & manga bc it's mainly a politcal discussion.
this episode uses a gnostic/buddhist setting. rick and morty are trapped in a system with endless reincarnations. the system feeds on ppl killing each other. for the left it's a metaphor for (feudal) capitalism, where ppl work to death only to profit the few ( estate owners, platform capitalists, etc). for the right it's a metaphor for kikes or global elites.
rick first seeks to organize the creatures to defeat the system. this fails since the more ppl get killed in the process, the stronger the system becomes. it sort of reminded me of the pickle rick episode: rick starts from nothing and use force to escape. but this method doesn't work this time. it's a metaphor for violent revolution and expansionist right.
just like how the U.S. became the world ruler using ww1 and ww2, and how the bolsheviks eliminated tsar, nobles and the church, making the country a perfect place for capitalism when ussr collapes.
morty first tries the spiritual quietist method, a metaphor for ppl using religions or "spirituality" to cope. this of course leads to no where: god (system) does not give a fuck whether u are morally good or not, the system only cares if u are obedient.
morty then uses humanitarian method. he bacame a plant that feeds animals, like some sort of saint. this is metaphor for centrists of all sorts, like the roman catholic church ( under the papacy of francis and leo), democractic socialists, etc. of course this leads to no where. when the alternative system of sainthood becomes too strong the system eliminates it.
the thing that works at last is lying flat. no birth, no killing, no work. starve the system to death, and prepare the weapon for a final blow. metaphor for leninist revolution (?), organizing strikes and using force when the time is ripe ( october revolution).
now i am not going to comment on whether this is the correct method to defeat the system, since i don't know. but i do like how the episode shits on religion and normie politics.

capital is new god. god is dead.
