I am 38 yo Chinese male and have been in a relationship for 4 months with a lovely 34 yo also Chinese woman who is previously divorced with a 3 year old son. According to her, she divorced her previous caucasian husband because of communication issues and his habits of drinking when taking care of their son, leading up to divorce when the child was only 1 year of age.
I'm a doctor, I'm have a lot of healthy hobbies (otaku and gaming nerd before but now a lot less), but my achilles heel has always been a short stature (165 cm, 5"5)
when I told my parents about the relationship they were almost completely overcome with worry and have assumed, that this relationship is going to fail. They give their explanations as such as that she is looking for money and security, that someone who is divorced has a lower threshold for getting divorced again, that the stepfather role comes with many uncertainties and that her son will definitely envy/hate me. They think that I must be desperate and that I don't need to sink so low in my standards when looking for a partner.
Listen to your parents you retard
