Yes.Rules for thee, not for me. That's what the Peng Shuai case was about.
Didn't forget. In essence this is one of my main points as commentary to what @CCPcel wrote. On the one hand we are sort of cribbing about Chinese authorities enforcing rule of law against these males. However, many incidents where stupid foids get bitch slapped for humiliating men in public probably get dismissed by the local police in small towns in China. That's probably one reason these guys felt they could do it, cause usually it goes undetected by Chinese local LE, unless there is an anti CCP angle. I guess this time the internet "me too" type vibe caught their attention, so they acted. You forget that the china gov censors the internet and is strongly against feminism and enforces gender norms

The title says it all, really. This happened earlier this month in Tangshan, a city of almost 8 million in northeastern China. Pretty standard stuff, right? What's odd is the fact that this has made international headlines somehow. It's almost as if the media has an agenda.

I mean, why exactly does CNN and the NY Times devote attention to what looks like a street brawl?
Of course, after Chinese femoids began to complain about the incident on Weibo (think of it as Chinese Twitter), state broadcasters called for the nine men to be arrested—which was what happened next.
China is the sort of place where the authorities won't hesitate to lock you up for making a Winnie the Pooh joke, so it's not surprising that they would devote resources to a similarly trivial incident—muh "violence against femoids".
soys will whine about "muh misogyny" even if foids aren't getting beat up left and right. they love pretending that foids are oppressedWe're gonna see a LOT more of this shit ALL OVER THE WORLD within the next 10 years. Of course the media is gonna get it completely wrong about WHY it's happening. They won't dare mention the gender ratios in China, or the system of de-facto polygamy in the Western world. Gonna be interesting to see their explanation of "why 'toxic masculinity' got so much worse in the last 10 years".
You fuck with the rice, you pay the price
