Basically Vincent Chin and his friends decided to celebrate at a bar before his marriage. Two white guys (Ronald Ebens and Michael Nitz) didn't take kindly to him however, and started berating him with racist insults. When a fight inevitably broke out between the two groups the bar owner kicked them both out.

Ronald and Michael weren't done with him however, and decided that they should both track down Vincent to teach him a lesson. They eventually found him and beat him to death with a bat, they then left Vincent Chin to die, and he would later succumb to his wounds a few days later, dying before he could marry his wife.

Neither Ronald or Michael would serve time in prison for murder, and would instead be given a fine on the account of "Manslaughter"
