Jeremy (or Sasuke-Chan-SuperJ online) is more than a little sweaty after his walk home from the supermarket.
He would’ve preferred to do his supply run in the car, but his roommate (Mum) refused to drive him. Something about “getting some fresh air." Typical.
It’s Friday night, and Jeremy is now fully stocked for a weekend of gaming. He’s got a few hours before he meets up (online) with the rest of $lifer-Dragon-X (his clan), so until then, he’ll fill the time moderating his Discords, trolling a few Reddit threads, and fuelling up on several litres of caffeinated beverages.
Jeremy knows some people think he’s a bit of a weirdo, but he likes who he is. He cherishes his small circle of real-world friends, and he loves his online community. If anything, the only thing that bothers him is the way his parents occasionally look at him, that soft, disappointed stare that says, “We were hoping for a lawyer.” But Jeremy’s got a surprise for them. A big one.
He was a relatively early adopter of crypto, and he’s sitting on more than enough to pay off his parents’ mortgage. All of it. He’s not usually one for emotional displays, but when he breaks the news, he knows they’re going to cry. And he knows (though he’ll deny it) that he probably will too.
Nice one, Jeremy. Have fun online, mate.
