The Atlas, an exploration game set in the 15th century and relased for multiple platforms since 1991, including the SNES (or Super Famicom i guess). There's a german version apparently but no English translation seem to exist. I like how the world map looks.

One game of the sort that comes to my mind is Civ City : Rome i think it got out in 2006 or something and made a flop, staying kinda obscure for ever. I always liked it and i find it relaxing as fuck.
