I do both, with Steam you also have steam workshop and instant updates instead waiting/begging x days or weeks for pirates to update.

only if you like the game and want to play multiplayer then buying is worth it, but yeah buying all games is stupid, some games on Steam are just dogshit releases and pirated versions are better (especially old games)

If you don't buy new games right away and wait for sales/drops, PC games are still a lot cheaper than consoles, especially if you use shady code resellers.

I only buy games on steam if its a game I've finished before and if its on sale. also if those nigger mod creators refuse to make their mods work on a pirated version and remove any outdated versions of their mods from the internet

Some games are perfectly fine on their own but even better with mods. For example Stardew Valley or Satisfactory are both perfectly fine without mods, but there are a lot of QoL upgrades for Stardew Valley and for Satisfactory there is a lot of additional content so that playing both vanilla and modded is a different, but both nice, experience.
