They are beginning to piss me off more and more lately. They are telling me I should not buy another vehicle. I want to buy a truck and I can absolutely afford it. I only have one car right now and it is my daily driver and it is in great condition.
But I want a cool truck or a cool car so I can carguymaxx and mod it out, put parts in it/on it and play around with it. Maybe I could bring it to car meets and actually make some new friends. By my parents say no and actively discourage me from buying one and say it is not a good idea. Even my dad doesn't want to be interested in it and help me work on it if I got one. Brutal that he wouldn't even want to spend time with me.
And despite all that I am not even looking for anything extreme. I'm not wanting to get some flashy new expensive vehicle and be paying a payment and getting in debt for it. I just want to buy a cool used vehicle that is somewhat functional, just for cash and then use that for fun only.
And I should be allowed to do this I think. I am a 24 year old adult male and yet I feel like a manchild because of how I am treated. I have a stable, full time, professional job. The pay isn't what I would ideally like and I would rather have a different job, but I can afford this purchase. Yes, I still live with them, but I could afford my own place if I wanted to, but there would be no point in doing so. I have no gf to live with and my friends either live far away, already have roommates/gfs, or also live with their parents, and I refuse to live with random roommates and refuse to pay for an expensive place to live alone. Maybe living alone would give me more independence but it isn't like I am going to be having sex at any apartment I'd live in, so what is the point?
