I stumbled across Robin Hanson – who's an economist who said it directly, he engaged with this parallel explicitly and paid a significant social price for it (Of course JFL).
He wrote in 2018 that if we take seriously the idea that extreme inequality in wealth distribution is a social problem requiring redistribution – we should at least be willing to consider whether extreme inequality in sexual and romantic access is also a social problem.
He was immediately and almost universally condemned (Who would've guessed).
Applied to the incel situation this produces something interesting.
The standard dismissal of incels is that their dispossession is their own fault: their personality, their hygiene, their attitude, their failure to self improve. They are told the solution is entirely individual.
This is structurally identical to telling the proletariat worker that his poverty is entirely his own fault : his laziness, his lack of initiative, his failure to develop skills. Individual solution to a structural problem.
The Marxist would recognize this as ideological mystification -- using individual moral framing to prevent structural analysis
Incelism: Chads and Stacies versus incels. Those who have abundant sexual and romantic access versus those who are locked out. The haves and have-nots defined by their relationship to sexual capital.
The parallel: Both produce a binary class structure with a dominant class whose abundance is seen as produced partly at the expense of the dispossessed class. Both identify the class position as structural rather than purely individual -- you do not simply choose your class position through individual merit alone.
Incelism: Hypergamous concentration. Female mate selection concentrating on the top tier of men leaves the bottom tier without access. The system is structured -- through biology, social media, dating app economics -- to perpetuate this concentration automatically without requiring malicious intent from individual women.
The parallel: Both identify a systemic mechanism rather than individual malice as the cause of dispossession. I know this can be debated -- for instance some would argue it's inherent to the female nature itself on an individual level other would say females are monolithic and hivemind for most part. But we do know that how women actively sabotage each others relationships, discourage dating men on the left end of the curve, they would pursue men which would make perfect trophies to flaunt -- The problem is structural as well as individual
Incel ideology: Men who have not taken the black pill are in a state of false consciousness -- they believe the system is fair, that self improvement will solve their problems, that the right attitude will produce romantic success. They have absorbed the blue pill ideology that justifies the sexual system that dispossesses them.
The parallel: Both ideologies construct a before and after epistemology. Before consciousness you were deceived. After consciousness you see reality as it is. Both make the attainment of their specific consciousness feel like a fundamental awakening rather than the adoption of a particular ideological lens.
Incelism: The dominant culture produces an ideological superstructure -- romantic comedies, dating advice, feminist theory, self help -- that justifies the sexual hierarchy and prevents dispossessed men from recognizing their structural position. The ideology serves the interests of the sexually successful while presenting itself as neutral or universal.
The parallel: Both identify ideology as a weapon wielded by the dominant class to maintain its position. Both see mainstream cultural narratives as fundamentally serving dominant class interests while mystifying the dispossessed about the nature of their situation.
Incelism: When a man improves himself and finds romantic success it is because he was not truly incel, or he got lucky, or the system made a temporary exception, women settled down. When women defend the sexual market it is because they are beneficiaries of the system. Every outcome confirms the framework.
The parallel: Both ideologies are structured to be unfalsifiable -- not accidentally but necessarily. A totalizing ideology that explains everything must have mechanisms for absorbing counterevidence. Both develop these mechanisms in structurally identical ways.
Incelism: Produces two broad response types -- the red pill response which believes self improvement and game can navigate the system successfully(escape the matrix), and the black pill response which concludes the system cannot be navigated and withdrawal or destruction is the only option.
The parallel: The black pill maps precisely onto revolutionary nihilism -- the most radical strain of Marxist thought that concluded the system was so totalized that only its complete destruction was meaningful. We see a lot of people here advocating for it, for instance advocacy for banning feminism and destructing gynocentric system to replace it with a radically patriarchic one with no autonomy given to females. Criticism is basically reductionism to one variable in both ideologies, In the Marxist thought everything is reduced to economics -- and in incelism it's physical appearance and looks.
