Palm Sunday passage and the modern Levant

Even though I have huge issues with cuckvangelical christianity, I am still (in the words of another user) "nominally" a christian as I never outright departed from it. Today being Palm Sunday, I thought I would read the passage the day is based on (Matthew 21).

It was striking how little the Levant has progressed from the time of those events. People are still fighting over the land where all of that took place, if Jesus went into the Jerusalem temple today, there would still be Jews disagreeing with him, if he even made it past the gates without getting blown up by Palestinian suicide bombers. The supposedly holiest land on Earth is a perpetually raped warzone.
