Don't know if this was on TV, but they did post it on YouTube and probably to other social media sites since that's the medium most people use these days to receive information. I do think the city does have channels specifically for broadcasting public messages.
But the video was talked about in the news and by other YouTube channels.

I hope to be out of the country before that happens. At least I have a basement in my house but I'm pretty much fucked by the fallout anyway if it happens.
Even though I live far from downtown Manhattan which would most likely be the epicenter the fallout will definitely be drifting to the direction where I'm at.
I guess all those old fallout shelters from the '50s and '60s with those signs will be of use once again.

I live in NYC dude. Yes, I'm far from downtown but even if I'm not in the blast zone I'm still going to be fucked by the fallout.
Unless you're a prepper and you have stacks of cans of food in your basement, but I think running water would be contaminated by radiation anyway. But might as well move out of the city and go somewhere cheaper and less of a target anyway.
Modern nukes are small and cute. There will be very little fallout. Unless the strike will be retaliatory, you will be OK.
P.S. not a prepper, but having couple of weeks worth of food never hurts.
