Recently found out that there's going to be a season 3 of Oshi no Ko this January and was surprised nobody really cares or is talking about it. Compare it to the last year where even season 2 made it to normie sites and where people were closely following the manga... Until the ending fucked everything up because most people hated it, and then the manga/anime quickly vanished from pop culture.
I call this the Game of Thrones effect, because that show was also super popular for many years: Episodes were always making it to news sites, every "geek" shop you could find tons of merchandise, people unironically quoted the show, etc. Then they made that awful final season with an even more awful ending, and in record time people stopped caring about Game of Thrones as if it never existed.
It never began for Oshinokocels. For those of you who haven't been spoiled, in a few years (still like half of the manga to adapt) you'll see for yourselves why the ending was considered bad or lazy.
