I used to believe in the free software meme. Now I have no stress in my life and just prop-software max. No more debugging my OS, just Windows and iOS max. Even when working on embedded systems, I’ll prefer a professionally maintained RTOS over some experimental Linux distro.

The real pill on this is that basically no modern software is good. Proprietary software is all nagware/adware, begging for subscriptions, updating when you don't want, tons of privacy concerns, limited customization etc. Meanwhile freeware is often lacking features, unoptimized for hardware, has compatability issues, breaks all the time etc.

I've been using windows for years and have mostly had no issues but I'm going to switch to Linux Mint because the Windows 11 is honestly malware tier. But that doesn't mean I'm happy about having to switch. I wish Microsoft could just make a new OS that isn't cancer.
