at this point you have two possibilities:
1- keep living the same day over and over while deluding yourself into thinking that things will eventually change.
2- commit suicide.
that's it. thanks for the attention

I have to believe that I can change, surely I can leave this room and participate eventually. Can I will my anxiety to go away?

The weird thing is that for me to be able to live a decent life, in some respects I think I'd have to kill myself. Not literally, but I'd have to change nearly everything about my behavior, and stop isolating myself, which is what I've been doing on some level since middle school. I can force myself to dissociate now, maybe I can use that to handle being in public? It would need to be a job which is extremely repetitive, but also requires little interaction.

of course you have to believe that you can change.
my post is implicitly saying that we still have hope or we would already be dead.

I work in a bookshop and maybe you can find something like that.
social skills will improve but you will also become more self-conscious.
to quote houellebecq:
“It is in our relations with other people that we gain a sense of ourselves; it's that, pretty much, that makes relations with other people unbearable.”
