@FrothySolutions and @GreaseCel and @HateMyLife and @HeroinNihilism and @incels.REEEE and @Lebensmüder all know what I'm talking about

I didn't find that out until the 2010s on one of those Watchmojo/Whatculture-style listicle videos.

I can't remember when tbh it weirdly feels like I've always known but I'd speculate mid-2010s. you never really journal about that type of thing even though it feels like a major life event to me in retrospect

This world is a joke. You just had to remind me OP :cryfeels:

I'm not saying it's not a disturbing film but when you look at what's actually shown LB4T just seems objectively more horrific.

TorsoWoundNeckWound

when I actually watch Sharptooth vs. Mom in slow motion it's amazing the gore they actually do show, the battle happens so fast you don't really notice she literally has chunks torn out of her after the silhouette-biting seen where you can see there's splatter effects that Littlefoot and Cera witness

It also reminds me how easy Cera got off pulling this shit later:

Why are some foids so ungrateful?

- -

Anyway I guess you were lucky they cut this scene from the Bambi film for being too graphic for Disney standards, would've been better competition for LB4T in terms of trauma-fuel if they had kept it in.

CutScene

I guess Littlefoot at least got to say goodbye to his mom, I get the sense a single headshot took out Bambi's.
Maybe the inability to do that is also why they cut the scene and just had Prince of the Forest show up and lead him away.
POTF probably saw the corpse and shielded Bambi from seeing it.

I'll also give props to Bambi for pulling off what it did in 42, we need to view it in era context that LB4T took until 88 to accomplish what it did with Littlefoot's mom

it's still fucking INSANE to me that bambi came out in 1942, like hitler was still alive and the battle of stalingrad was ONGOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hitler in 1936 actually banned the 1923 book Bambi: Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde which film was based on.

This was after he found out the Austrian Jew who wrote it (Felix Salten) ghost-wrote Josephine Mutzenbacher in 1906. Here's an excerpt if you're curious:

Josephine Mutzenbacher said:
See my breasts—how big they are?
Well, Franz; says that that is the result of so much fucking when I was only nine years old.

Hitler was also a big fan of Disney prior to them adapting Bambi, he said 1937's Snow White was best film ever made.

It actually spawned political commentary mocking him about this published in 1938:

1938 toon

Hitler even did fan art of three of the dwarves (Doc/Dopey/Sleepy) as a gift to impress Eva Braun

Plus also a piece of Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio, an 1883 novel from Italy.

HitlerArt

Later research showed he pretty much copied it from a 1938 art book though. Unclear if he traced it or drew it by hand tho

1938

Sometimes it feels like the internet has existed for decades longer than it actually has...

My guess is if he found out about them adapting Bambi prior to his death (he was pretty busy at the time so I'm not sure if he knew) his views would've soured on the company's direction.

That said, he might've given them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they didn't know about the Salten-Mutzenbacher connections due to language barriers and Jewish control of the free press. It did after all take him 13 years to find out.

I don't remember this one. I do remember the Brave Little Toaster, though. I watched it again as an adult, and I can see why that impacted me so heavily as a kid. The fucking electromagnet in the junk yard terrified me as a kid. :feelsmega::feelsmega:

TBH didn't discover the bambi/porn connection until today when I was googling Hitler+Disney because I remembered he was a fan and then saw people all butthurt he banned the novel.

I'm going to make a new bambi thread BTW

ever watch the magic school bus?
yes, decent lewds of keesha exist

I used to watch that and brave little toaster and rocco’s modern life. The good ol days

Same here, saw many The Land Before Time and The Brave Little Toaster films

Weren't there like 10 or 20 of these movies lmao.

there was a rifle in Destiny called No land beyond and I used to call it the land before time. It was a beautiful gun :feelsbadman:
Good movie tho :feelsautistic:

90s kids got that tragic adult dose of reality through their favorite animated films

In my 30s. Have no idea wtf is going on even though I watched the movie multiple times.

True oldcel trait: your brain's deteriorating and all memories are fading.

14, journey of the brave came out 2016

so rewatch it now with a sobre mind

as a kid you only pick up snippets of plot and impact of kid films

rewatching Last Unicorn and Little Nemo as an adult is pretty cool IMO
Brave Little Toaster

yeah even though that's not Bluth it gets to be an honorary Bluth IMO that movie was fucked, love it

kids are missing out these days, the trash they're spitting now isn't going to prepare their minds for the trauma of our fucked world like the 80s/90s classics
