This post on the Dogfree soyddit inspired this thread. I unfortunately share a house with my family's mutt. I find it hilarious my parents are willing to spend their money and resources on the mutt we have, yet god forbid their own flesh and blood with no future copes at home. And it's not like I don't help them. I cook for them almost every night, I try to do things around the house, especially if they ask. What does the mutt do? Sleep and beg for food. Dogs are incapable of loving their owners, it is simply a dependence for food that keeps dogs complacent.
This is probably the case for other cels who have nutter parents. We thankfully only have one mutt to waste time and money on. But dog domestication honestly shouldn't be a thing anymore, and humans put too much of their emotional needs into dogs when the feelings are never reciprocated.
