The main reason the west doesn't fight back too harshly in the ukraine war is to not make russia feel incompetent, because all powers in the world would rather see humanity's end than humanity going on without them, and if russia feels actually powerless in the non-nuclear fight, it WILL use its nukes

Right now us tries its best to not make russia feel in danger and creates a "fair fight" for them by voluntarily holding back, if the west were to use its ACTUAL (non nuclear) power, russia would lose and retreat in a week, but you never know, west might do just a bit too much and ruskis go crazy
