Now when you reload with bullets still in your mag you will lose all the bullets you had in your mag.

How doesnt it make no sense jfl this can actually help push out foids and normalfags from the game as it makes it a bit more strategic although not by much.

Why would a trained operator discard a magazine with bullets left

What would make more sense is if this were a rotation cycle, basically change the mag and leave the used one in the rotation
But no, just throw it on the ground

Npcs will buy textures for gorillion dollars

is actually not a bad update as it reinforces using ur bullets wisely and prevents mindless spam but idk i have yet to play it

theres also a way to troll where you could discard all bullet weapons quickly

FUCK THIS FUCKING GAME ANYWAYS

Read my comment above.

Good thing I don't play this game
Wait, nvm. I have made that comment in another thread where anotheer brocel complained about the same update / change.

Well, why would an operator do thiss, you ask?

It all depeends on the circumstances, I'd say..

In the game it is obviousrly mandatory and happens regardless of the situation.

In the heat of the battle, in close wuarter combat, I too would not bother putting a used mag back into my pouch and then get load a fresh one as that simply takes too much time, I'd argue.

If you are at a safer distance, have cover and time, you can of course do that.

Imo, Valve could have given the player the option between two types of reloads.

A quick tap on R makes you reload and discard the used mag.
Holding R for a little longer makes you put tthe used mag back in your pouch (cycle) and load a fresh mag, which should obviousely take a little more time.

Now that would then be a tactical decision and surely would make the game more interesting.

I don't think Valve aims for realism with this update or with Counter Strike in general, they just want to introduce a bit more strategy and tension. Valve probably wouldn't introduce the option to keep half empty mags, as CS is a very streamlined game by design. Keeping track of mags would get messy from a UX perspective and wouldn't be conducive to the fast paced nature of the game.

Counter Strike is not fast paced though.

Battlefield and COD are.
CS is slow af, for my taste.

Also, ny suggested mechanic would introduce exactly what you have said, strategy and tension.

That's strange, I always thought CS was pretty fast paced, especially compared to other tactical shooters. Different tastes, I guess.

Yes, I think what you suggested could work, but Valve has always kept the core gameplay of CS very bare bones and streamlined (basic mechanics and controls compared to most shooter games with minimal gameplay updates), so I think they would likely be averse to making such a change.

Agreed, thats sounds a lot more realistic and an interesting new mechanic.

I agree with you. It is its own flavor and very OG, which is not bad either, if one likes it.

I never played it but why the fuck would they change something that's been in game for over 20 years now?
